The Work Management System tracks construction labor and materials by
establishing "Work Points" and "Plant Units" (you may refer to them as Assembly
Units) in a system that is connected to the facility network, but separate from
it.
Most
Utility companies store a fairly high level model of their connected network in CableCad. For example, they store a POLE record, but do not include detailed
information on the sub assemblies and labor requirements required to build the
network. However, this information is important for estimating costs,
dispatching work crews, maintenance, etc. Then, after all your reporting and
construction are complete, you can optionally delete all of the Work Point and Plant Unit
records, leaving a facility network that is ideal for operations and
maintenance!
